Socialist presidential candidates say there is “blood on Biden’s hands” amid visit to Israel following hospital massacre

Claudia De la Cruz and Karina Garcia, presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, express their outrage at Biden visit to Israel today to back the genocidal assault against Gaza

Claudia De la Cruz expressed her disgust at Biden’s actions saying, “Joe Biden is 100% responsible for the atrocities Israel commits. It is especially unconscionable that he would make this trip immediately after Israel bombed a hospital that was also serving as a refugee camp. The world is horrified at this crime, but Biden chose to stand next to Netanyahu and echo Israeli lies.” De la Cruz continued, “Not only does the U.S. government provide the bullets, bombs and missiles used to murder thousands of Palestinians, now the president of the United States himself has gone to personally pledge his support. There is blood on Biden’s hands”

Karina Garcia emphasized the importance of the ongoing demonstrations for Palestine, “Biden is completely out of step with world public opinion, which stands with the Palestinian people. And this is true in the United States too. Tens of thousands have been in the streets all across the country over the last week demanding freedom for Palestine. It is more important than ever that these actions continue to show that while Biden speaks in our name, he does not represent the views of the people.”

Claudia De la Cruz explained her view that, “The Palestinian struggle is a struggle for freedom. It is the struggle of a colonized people fighting to liberate their homeland. We know we are on the right side of history, and those standing with racism, apartheid and genocide are on the wrong side.”
